CANADIAN TULIP FESTIVAL POSTER

This poster was a several week project made my first year in design school. Requirements were that the poster must feature the event name, date and place, and we needed to come up with a tag line. My poster aims to not be overly feminine in order to appeal to everyone. The modern typography and bold visuals make the viewer want to approach the poster and look closer.

Process: I found a photo of pink tulips that I liked, made it grayscale, posterized it in photoshop, and printed it. Then I cut pieces out of magazines that corresponded with the colors and values I needed for the artwork. I arranged, cut and glued all of the pieces down. Then I scanned the work, and brought it into photoshop where I did a little color correction and added the text.
